The new year started off with this two vehicle crash on State Road 56 East by Weston's Lake. The initial call came at 1:15 AM reporting an accident on highway 56 at the bottom of a hill. It was believed to be near the county line.
The Chrysler 300 was traveling west bound on SR 56 when entering the curve by Weston's Lake the car drifted off the right side of the roadway. The driver over corrected and entered a sideways skid, drifting across center line into the path of the east bound mini van. The driver of the mini van was transported to Washington County Memorial Hospital and later released. The driver of the Chrysler 300 was transported to University of Louisville Trauma Center. The initial caller was unsure of their location, so Police, Fire and EMS responded from both Washington and Scott counties.
