Washington County Sheriff's Dept. Recent Activity May 20, 2000 Jim Day Rd & highway 56 at east edge of Salem

This accident occured on Highway 56 E at Jim Day Rd. just outside Salem city limits. Salem City Police were the first to arrive on scene. Salem Officers provided traffic control while Washington Co. deputies filled out the accident investigation paperwork. Onscene treatment of patients was provided by the Salem Fire Dept. Rescue Squad 28 and Washington County Memorial Hospital Ambulance Service. Witness's stated the Ford Mustang was east bound and turned left in front of the west bound Infiniti SUV. The driver of the Mustang was not wearing his seat belt and was ejected through the sun roof. All occupants were transported to Washington County Hospital for treatment. The Mustang driver was transported to University Hospital Trauma Center in Louisville KY by StatCare.
